I recently just sold my rx 480 for $400, and am going to upgrade my gpu... should I get a gtx for 1080 for about $550 (I only have a 1080p 60hz monitor, but want to upgrade to a 1440p monitor soon) or spend the extra $200 for a Ti, and have to go two more weeks without a computer to save up for it... I also only have a i5 6600k OC to 4.5 (can go up to 4.8 but that’s a little to high for my comfort). Can that CPU even push a 1080ti?

I would get a 1080 and save for a monitor. Your bottleneck right now is your monitor. Does not matter if you get a 1080 or a 1080ti, your CPU will make no difference at 1080p 60hz. My recommendation is to get a 1440p, high refresh rate monitor with gsync.

Gsync is expensive, but gaming will never look the same again. IPS panels are higher than TN, but have better color and viewing angles. While TN panels have lower lag times. Here are two options that will pair very nicely with a 1080/6600k combo.
