am i using the graphic card ?? how to get fps ??? friends 840m is better a lot than my 940m whyy ???

Hi, I am using a Lenovo Yoga 3 laptop with a 4gb ram i7 and nvidia 940m.
i am having trouble with my fps on games like dota2 or cs:go and stuff while my friends are having no problem using his 840m!
That s made me curious how to increase my fps
well his laptop is 720p while mine is 1080p
i,ve tried to change my 3d application setting to maxium performance
changing pyhcx setting to 940m
what should i do

are u running the game on your laptop native resolution?drop the game res to 720p and see how it fair.also whats his laptop model?he might have a better cpu/more ram than yours.also take note that his game is running at 720p so its less taxing on the gpu.

It's all about the resolution. Running at 1080p is going to tax the GPU much more than running at 720p. 720p is easy but not 1080p on a laptop. You gotta compare performance as apples to apples...and at same resolution. I'm sure your 940m is better.

Note: i once ever got 100 fps to on lowest setting dota 2 but my laptop have been formatted and since then it never get those fps, i supposed the game has updated but i dont think that's the issue

You are running at a higher resolution...so the fps will drop. If you run the game at 720p instead of 1080p you'll see that your fps is higher than your friend's laptop.

Its obviously your resolution.just drop it to 720p and it should perfom the same as the 840m or marginally better.
