I am a 17 year old male and in college, I currently have a Macbook pro. I use it for work and gaming - mostly for gaming (although it is not the best for what I play) and stuff like that - but I was in search of something better. I came across this website where you can build a custom laptop, so I put in the parts that i wanted and it came up with about the same price as a Macbook Pro. The laptop that i built was made for gaming but also has access the the internet and stuff like that. It is built perfectly for me but i am unsure if it is worth it. What i am looking for in a laptop is a processor and graphics card. I just need some advice on what i should do

Thank you

Are you planning on selling the MacBook Pro that you currently own? If your main intent is gaming, here's my personal recommendation. Get a Chromebook (yes I said it and I know I'm gonna get hate for this) or keep your current MacBook if you don't want to sell it and build a gaming PC. Most college student's (like me) don't use laptops for intensive work. Just to browse the internet, fb, use word, powerpoint, etc. You can use google docs, google slides, etc for most of your basic work using a chromebook. Build a gaming PC for video editing, gaming and more gaming etc.

Or get a cheap windows laptop if you want to stick with downloading softwares, use office, etc.

Now if you do video editing and stuff in college and heavy use for...

Now if you do video editing and stuff in college and heavy use for classes, by all means go for a gaming laptop. Regarding a custom gaming laptop, I wouldn't recommend it. Get an Asus RoG laptop since it will have support, warranty, etc. (Not an Alienware something crazy like that). Something with a GTX 960M will be perfect for you.
