Hey all,

I've overclocked my i7 7700k to 5.1 Ghz at 1.36 V (Manual mode) with my Asus Maximus IX Hero. Ran Intel XTU stress test overnight with a max temp of 86 C (Original H100i AIO) and no BSOD. Thus far I've gamed and used the PC alot, system definitely seems stable, no BSOD. HOWEVER

I am having one issue: sometimes, the system gets stuck on the Asus ROG post screen when booting. I then restart and get a message upon booting that the system has failed to post due to instability. What gives?? This has happened 3 times so far and it hasn't been a week with the overclock. Gonna run a memory check right now to ensure my memory is fine, but I doubt that is the problem.

yes, this happens sometimes, it is possible that while it boots it detects weird voltages and system doesn't like it

what is the original voltage on the 7700?

perhaps reduce to 5ghz and lower voltage, the issue should disapear, in general you are very close to find the right spot of this overclocked cpu
