I salvaged an m.2 drive from a laptop i found on the side of the road (idk how it got there, looked like it was thrown out of a car) running windows 10 a few weeks ago and need to format it, but my OS won't detect it. I am sure it works because I can boot from it, but when I boot from my own HDD it's like it's not there. Also, is this a safety feature on windows 10, or is it a 1 time glitch that i was unlucky enough to have.

P.S.: I have already tried cracking the password to no avail.

Well it's not asking for a password when I try and format it, it's asking for a password since it has a windows 10 account on it.

And if you mean it's against the forum rules due to legality concerns, do you know where I can go? I have no interest in what the drive contains and the computer was already trash to whoever threw it out so I don't see an issue in using it.
