Hi. I have recently had a custom loop fitted with my new i7 6700k running at 4.2hz turbo. I use hwmonitor to check my temps and while playing pub on low settings 1080p the cpu temps can reach 83c at less than 60% utilisation.

Before the blocks were installed both the ek waterblock for gpu and cpu where thoroughly cleaned and flushed with de-ionised water. GPU doesn't go above 50c on full load yet my cpu runs extremely hot.

The ambient temps as it's summer is around 30 to 35c. I never noticed the temps high when I first had it installed 3 months ago but surely the cha he in ambient temp shouldn't make that much difference. GPU remains the same but slightly higher idle temps.

I've tested with prime95 and the temps almost reach 95c only after 5 minutes. My custom loop consists of 280 thick rad and 240 normal. Picture as follows.

Have you tried resetting the block? Or maybe reapply the thermal grease.

Also when you test with prime95 put this in the local folder in prime95 "CpuSupportsAVX=0" Also use small fft for testing

It will lower the cpu temps considerably during testing.

One last thing which I assume you know. Pump > 280mm > cpu >240mm > gpu > pump

Ya I don't think your helping anyone with your "pointless" comment.

I have re seated the cpu block, tilted my case on its side and back the other side to release any air bubbles.

My order is Pump/GPU/280/CPU/240/RES. I've put my fans on 40% now idEling around 30c. Tested with prime95 28.4 and it's holding now 75c. For me there is still a problem as I've seen others oc their 6700k 4.8 and holding 75c with ease. My friend has the i5 7600k and h110 aio. He gets 66c @ 4.8.

Would you suggest removing all hardware and cleaning both rads, cpu block. What coolant do you recommend? I'm using mahems pre mix x1 red. Thanks for replies.

Res>pump>280mm>cpu>240mm>gpu>res>pump.

This is the order is better to have. The larger radiator should always be between the pump and the cpu. Gpus handle heat much better then cpus. If you want your cpu temps to go down use the larger radiator for it.

Of course you could always raise the fan speed higher then 40% too. Though I guess your trying to run silent.

The fans are only running at 40% idle sub 40c (I cant hear them loudly) and then its the standard curve up to 75c 100% rpm. I cant see how I can change my rads and order. Looking at the inside, isit possible? I could maybe squeeze the 280mm in the front but i'm using the HDD bay raid 0 so I will struggle.

Would you type a full order I should re do the loop. I also have a 360slim I could use instead of the 240 or 280thick which can go in the top.
