Does DX12 explicit multi gpu feature allow gpu switching/disabling for gtx series and something like amd firepro for work?

Solution
A card is used only when a monitor is conected to it, if no monitor or cross/sli is not activated then the card will enter in standby and will not be used.
What explicit multi-gpu does is in the games that support it, which as far as I know is just Ashes of the Singularity, it will allow two completely different gpus to work together similar to how an SLI/crossfire configuration would work. For that to happen it requires the application itself to have support for it.

@renz496, just basically how do you use two different gpu's in one pc build? Like a cad card and a game card?

I think you just plug em both to two different monitors.

Looks like the answer has been posted here several times?
