I went upgraded from an fx 6300 to an i7 7700k and my fps are the same with most games but drop a lot more. My gpu is a gtx 950. While in csgo I have 150-200 fps with a lot of drops at 30% cpu and gpu usage. Is this normal? Also, in a more demanding game, Players unkown battlegrounds I have 30-60 cpu usage and 90 ish gpu usage. Is all of this normal? Thank you

Many folks obsess over cpu and gpu usage statistics; at lower res (1080 or below), the cpu usage will be higher, and, at high res, the gpu will be higher. The FX6300 is essentially a 3-core hyperthreaded cpu, so, it's cores will be pretty busy keeping up with any GPUs capabilities, save for at perhaps the highest resolutions...(even an i5 can keep with an OC'd i7 at 4k/ultra....

Most folks should check framrerates, and spend less time worrying about precise CPU utilization rates.

I would expect framerates to double (from FX6300 to 7700K)at low res in many games, assuming no vsync or botched chipset/driver isntall version issues exist...

The 7700K almost doubles framerates compared to FX9590 at 1080P in this comparison. Doubt those...

CS Go is quite cpu intensive and the 7700k kills it with 150+ fps. But games like PUBG and most AAA games are GPU intensive. You mentioned your GPU goes up to 90% which means it is trying it's best to give you the best graphics. The 60 fps you are experiencing in PUBG are the best your GPU can do for you. This is normal and you will need a GPU upgrade for better performance.

Good Luck :)

I actually went from an AMD FX 6300 to an i7 7700K myself a few weeks ago and I haven't really seen a huge improvement in my game (GTA 5). I have a GTX 980 Founder's Edition, I think our problem is the GPU, cause as you said above there was high GPU usage. Try upgrading yours, I wouldn't now however due to the GPU shortages and high prices.
If you go to Microsoft's website, you can download a free ISO of Windows 10 and place it on a flash drive. You can reinstall it from there.
