Upgrading from i5 6400T to i7 7700T. Will I need to update BIOS?

I currently have the Zotac NEN SN970. It has a stock i5 6400T low watt CPU & am interested in installing a low watt CPU (i7 7700T) upgrade that I was fortunate to get free to boost CPU. I'm not interested in overclocking or anything extreme. To anyone familiar with these MOBOs, would I need to update BIOS before I take that big leap? Was hoping to clarify that before installing anything...

System Specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6400T (quad-core, 2.2 GHz, up to 2.8 GHz)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 960 (970m specs)
Socket: Socket 1151 LGA
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. B333P009 (11/08/2016)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 512 GB 2.5"
RAM: crucial 16gb ddr3l-1600 sodimm
OS: Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

To those who can point me in the right direction, thank you so much.

Bruce

YOu would be advised to read the Zotac specs carefully to see if the 7700T is supported; certainly, a BIOS update MIGHT help, but, always check the manufacturer's website for 'supported cpus', which vary with BIOS version and sometimes hardware revision of mainboard as well....

That doesn't apply to my model. Upon opening, the CPU is upgradeable. The MOBO socket # confirms it as well as a Zotac technical specialist who said I can install a 6th gen CPU (but since I have 7th gen I am in a small bind lol). The GPU can be upgraded (MXM). Unfortunately the documentation from Zotac confuses a lot of people, myself included.

I am just wondering if anyone has experience going from 6th Gen to 7th Gen on a mini PC application since I have one sitting in front of me.

If not, I will just sell it & get a 6th gen like the 6700T since performance is also identical anyhow.
