I'm not a PC Guru I'm pretty noobish when it comes to PCs. I didn't build this computer I bought it used. It seems pretty beefy, at least for when I bought it a couple years ago.
AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz 8Core
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z ATx AM3+
16gig DDR3 ram
Radeon R9 290X
Antec "Truepower" Quattro 1200W power supply
But it keeps crashing when I'm playing Cities Skylines, World of Warships, Xcom2, Planet Coaster. Those are the big "offenders." I've had problems with The Division and I get surprised when Motorsport Manager starts to lag considering it isn't a very hardware stressing game.
It has recently started crashing Banished.
One thing I've noticed is that my fans don't seem to spin very fast. I have "Speedfan" and they always seem to hover around the 1000 to 1200 mark. I have them on the "automatic" setting.
I've done memory tests and they seem to pass with flying colors.
I recently did a stress test and I got these temps before it crashed.
Temp 1 140F
GPU 111F
Core 133F
I'm doing a GPU test with FurMark as I type this and it seems to be handling it really well. Temp is at 201F/94C and THAT fan is blowing at 95% right now, 3200 rpm on the Speed Fan.
Any Ideas?
