upgrading from gtx 1050 2gb

is it worth me getting a 970 for 1060 or any or suggestions?

new to pc and have no idea what will be better to get more fps on games and better graphics :)

with your current system, purchasing one of those cards you mentioned wouldn't be a great idea. Unfortunately, your system will hold back those cards, and you won't see a massive improvement. There will be some improvement in GPU bound games. But once you play anything that requires a good CPU, your system will be found wanting.

For the moment your 1050 is a decent balanced match with your system.
