Hello and thanks in advance for any advice;

Prime Day has a great deal on an external ssd (480 gb sandisk). I have been looking to purchase an ssd as I do not have one at the moment. I am wondering if this is a good idea to purchase and use as my boot disk. What and how difficult are the work arounds? Will this ssd be intrinsically slower than an internal one? And finally, is the low price (>$130) worth the trouble of buying this?

Don't buy an external drive hoping to use it as a Windows boot drive.
Even if you eventually kinda sorta get it working, it will be terribly slow.
