I was hoping to get into coding for IOS devices using C# so I can build a program for a relative to use at a school but to do so I would need a mac and they're just ridiculously expensive..

I had a look at virtualization but that looks like more hassle than its worth to have it interact with the programs properly.

So my final conclusion would to have a hackintosh machine using my current PC and using an external HDD to store the OS and boot from as external hard drives are relatively cheap.

I was wondering if my current setup would be compatible with the mac OS x and if I can boot from an external HDD?

PC Specs:
i7-4790
MSI Z97S SLI Krait edition
Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB(4x4GB)
(Not sure if you need to know the HDD that stores windows seen as it shouldn't be used)- WD blue 1TB 7200RPM, Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM, SanDisk SSD PLUS 120GB
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming edition
EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W
Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD writer

Prompt replies are greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I'd suggest you save up for a Mac if you want to use OS X. Get a part time job or sell something. Mac OS X can only be legally claimed through buying a Mac. In case you were about to discuss about pirating, piracy won't be allowed to be discussed here.
