so at a budget for gpu (175USD) max is 2gb okay or is 4gb a necessity playing games like gta v, overwatch, csgo, world of tanks, ark survival evolved, and or rust.
Going from a athlon x4 860k 4core to fx 8320.
(not looking to crank out the settings of everything either.)
Preferably prices from newegg.
Gpu market is kinda shreked rn with cryptocurrency but this is literally the best chance ill have at upgrading.
(current gpu is a gt 740 sc 4gb ddr5)

Solution
2gb of GPU (RAM) is useable, but if you want to play games like GTA or other AAA games you should strongly consider buying a 4gb card.

Depending on your budget I would very strongly suggest a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB because it is the price to performance sweet spot for budget builds right now and would go well with a processor like the fx 8320.

Hope it helps, good luck with your build.

Solution
1) The FX-8320 update over X4-860K probably isn't that significant, but varies depending on the game. From a quick look it seemed to be roughly 0% to 20% gain depending on the game and settings.

Should help a bit more on the LOWER END (slightly less stutter in some games) but depending on the upgrade cost it's hard to assign a value to that.

2) CRYPTOMINING has prices all screwed up so I suggest you wait, or go with my recommendation below which is not a bad card (I think they are also starting to get bought out). I will give you a performance comparison chart though for future reference (i.e. FPS vs Dollar).

I suggest 4GB at minimum for VRAM, so perhaps a GTX1050Ti or better.

3) I had the equivalent of the GTX1050Ti until last year and it ran almost every game really well. Even games like Crysis 3 provided I carefully tweaked the game (I used Adaptive VSYNC as well which you may want to investigate). Basically auto turns VSYNC OFF if you drop below the target such as below 60FPS on 60Hz monitor.

That gives screen tear (VSYNC OFF) but prevents the added STUTTERING you get with VSYNC ON when you can't maintain 60FPS (for 60Hz monitor).
