Alternative uses for high end CPU

I purchased a 1700 and had been recording and streaming for a bit, but honestly I do not think it's for me.

What are some alternative uses for this processor other than gaming/recording/streaming?

I don't regret buying it, but wouldn't mind finding another hobby that involves my PC that would actually put this rig to some good use.

If you want to put it to good use, you can use it for F@H, a distributed system for modeling protein folding to potentially treat diseases or cancer.

Its a great way to do something good with extra processing power.

Oh, well I'm glad to hear it.
Other than folding, some other options would be to use it as the main system and use say the one in your sig as a media device, home server, etc.
Nothing else comes to mind right now for a system that powerful though.
