Hello everyone,
I have asus z170k motherboard with the latest BIOS version available, and recently I bought Western Digital - Black SSD 512GB.

I want to install my windows (8.1) on that, but the ssd didn't show up in the bios. My first try is just continue with the windows installation. It turns out on windows installation, i can install windows on the ssd. The problem is after I run AS SSD benchmark, the result is very poor.

My question is, am I doing something wrong when installing the ssd? Or is this result normal?
Please help me, I'm so confuse right now. I can provide more screenshot, like my BIOS setting and such if needed. Thanks in advance

What motherboard and what storage driver version is used? Might want to reinstall the driver. You don't need to change any settings or "tweak" it just change the page file size. How is the CPU usage during HD stress test? If it fluctuates a lot, your drives are the issue.

Ummm, how do you check storage driver version? The CPU use at max 3% during the stress test

Go to device manager right-click on the HDD, click properties. Click on the "details" tab and look for the driver version. Look for an update to your motherboard BIOS (again) as more devices are supported in newer driver versions.

I updated all my driver, then i install WD SSD Dashboard. It tell me that my ssd is running correctly and the firmware is up to date. I run AS SSD again just to find the same result (around 160-170 write speed).
After lurking around, I try another benchmark software, crystaldiskmark. It turns out my write speed score using crystaldiskmark is 800ish (being the latest one is 823). I don't know why, but is it possible that the as ssd benchmark is glitching out? Anyway, I'm happy that my ssd is running fine. Thanks to both of you that helping me out
