Upgrade? or component swap?

so i know the g4560 is better than the i3 3220.

but i have a perfectly good 13 3220.
but my motherboard is dead, so i need a new mobo, but i might not find one.
so, get a new mobo and cpu (g4560)
or change current mobo ONLY to a new mobo.

motherboard swap if you can find the same model. this will preserve your OS. a different model will require re-installation of OS.
the new CPU will require a motherboard and DDR4, 4560 is windows 10 only, no 7 or 8.

my current psu is a powerlogic 700w psu which probably obliberated my mobo.
so what can i replace it with? a corsair vs450?

if the PSU is suspect swap it too. the cx-series by corsair (black and grey) are very high quality budget friendly units, that or the seasonic m12ii if you want a modular version.

PSU swaps will not affect your operating system.

and does the m12ii come with cables?

both the cx450m and the seasonic *12II series 430 or higher (s12II is standard attached cables/M12II is Semi-modular with cables) are my go to recommendations for entry level. both are high quality and have a reputation of reliability. flip a coin they are that close to each other.
personally I prefer seasonic.
