Today I just put together a computer with:

-MSI 970A-G43 PLUS motherboard
-EVGA supernova 1000W p2 PSU
-2 sticks RAM (4GB)
-some cheap AMD CPU(think it was refurbished) with a good air cooler.
-2x HD 7950 GPUS

I plan to use it for digital coin mining. I ordered everything except for the PSU from GPUshack.

I hooked up an ethOS usb stick, a keyboard and a ASUS 1080p monitor. I plugged the monitor into one of the video cards via HDMI cable.

When I turned it on, there's no video signal, I have no idea why.

Right now, the motherboard is sitting on standoff nuts on a piece of sheet metal which is on a piece of wood and the carpet. I'm sure the motherboard is not touching any metal.

The motherboard touched the carpet a few times so could have possibly ruined it with static electricity? I had to pick out a couple pieces of carpet fiber from the bottom pins on the motherboard (I know I'm an idiot, should have assembled on my desk).

I have already read the thread on what to do for no video signal problems, don't really have any ideas, except the motherboard is possibly ruined from the carpet? or maybe one of the parts came ruined in the mail? The only thing I know is brand new is the PSU.

I do have an intel core i7 lying around somewhere that I could test instead of the AMD cpu.

yes I know I'm lazy, the wires connecting the mobo to the power button look sloppy.
