I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card(s) setup, which is currently a pair of GTX 760s in SLI. A friend of mine is selling his reference GTX 980 to me for $150 (which seems like a pretty good price to me), but I'm not sure if that performance boost is worth the value compared to saving up some money and buying a newer/better card like a GTX 1060/70 or RX 570/80 (after these GPU prices stop being crazy).

Other specs:
i7-4770k @ 4.2GHz
32GB of DDR3 @ 1866MHz
2x GTX 760 SLI
512GB SSD

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

A gtx 980 is slightly more powerful than a 4gb rx 480, like a 6gb gtx 1060. You're not going to find a better deal than $150 for a 980, I would just go for that. Buying used cards from friends is also safer than from strangers
If you consider only the performance, 1070 is the best of the ones you mentioned. Price wise 980 is the best value but only if it's in very good condition and with warranty remaining.

SLI is never a good option as there are only a few games that can support yet alone fully utilise it.

580 is the best value when the prices drop(turn back to normal) if you don't want to spend that much for a 1070.
