Hey guys! im trying to put more ram in my old pc, but i didnt find the same brand of ram, and was curious can try and mixing rams? i already bought "new" ram, timings/speed is the same of both rams.

my motherboard: gigabyte m68m-s2p

my old ram: Micron MT16HTF25664AY-800J1

my "new" ram: samsung M378T5663qz3-cf7

same CAS/timing/voltage of both memory's so can i manage to make it work?

No i only bought 1 ram stick, im sorry for not writing that earlier.

mixing brands is a crapshoot at best. On older boards, you could have problems if the ram was different capacities, or if one had modules only on one side of the stick, it wouldn't work with a stick that had modules on both sides of the stick. Laptops can be even more picky about the ram they will support.

Best case -- everything works
worst case -- nothing works

Good Luck!

Okay i try put in "new" memory stick, after that then i power on pc its start beeping(1 long beep and 2 short beep) in gigabyte site says that its memory error( https://www.gigabyte.com/Support/FAQ/816 ) i also try removing old ram and put in only "new" ram and the same happens, so that means "new" memory stick is not compatible with my motherboard or "new" ram stick have wrong voltages/timing settings? maybe i need bios update or try reset default settings?

p.s both are 2GB memory sticks

Do both of them have IC chips on both sides or, one on just one side and other on both?
