Hello
So, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU
Currently running a Pentium Dual Core E5300
I'm getting a C2D E8400 for $7.75(roughly 500INR, converted to USD)
Simple question
Is the performance difference worth the price/hassle of installation?
Any C2Q are quite expensive and will require saving up
I can't find any reliable/new benchmarks, hence asking here
Thanks in advance!

Update
I've just today added a GT 640 v2 to my PC
After I installed it and updated the drivers to the newest available, my PC has started lagging considerably
The desktop and all are fine, but even in steam, it takes a while for the button to highlight after I've hovered my mouse over it. This didn't happen when i want using a GPU at all, and has started after I added it
Is it that the CPU is under too much load?
I'll update on that tomorrow using CPU usage and all
Any help is appreciated
Thank you

You won't find new benchmarks easily on an almost 10 year old CPU, especially since most new games will not run on it. It will be mostly things like "lets see how an old system handles these new games for fun" instead of a real benchmark of a game.

It will be faster than the one you have now, if it's worth the work to install it is up to you. It's very cheap, but of course that is using US currency and values. To most people in the US, $8 is a day of gas or a single meal at a fast food place, really nothing. If you are looking to upgrade the computer to run any newer games, you need to get the Core 2 Quad or newer.
