I want help because I wanted to record gameplay but when i first record games it is fine but when i set game settings to high and also set game priority to high. Video starts lagging but game doesn't lags. If i lower game settings and also save recording to external hdd will it affect the performance.

There are two factors here that could affect your recording ability. The most obvious is the fact that you are using an external HDD. Assuming it is your run of the mill mechanical hard drive in a USB 2.0 case, I can safely say that the HDD transfer rates are too slow for what ever quality of video you are currently recording at. Try lowering the resolution of the recording and the bit rate. For example, instead of recording at 1080p@60fps, try recording at 720p@30fps, and have compression at a higher ratio, assuming your screen capture application supports compression. The other factor could be your CPU. Screen recording is almost always handled by the CPU in some way, so changing GPU settings shouldn't have any major effect on the computer's recording ability (unless you have shadows or physics settings maxed out, in which case, you should probably decrease those to get better CPU performance). If your computer is struggling to handle gaming and recording simultaneously, it's probably because you a.) don't have at least 8 Gigabytes of ram or b.) have a CPU that isn't powerful enough (think Intel Pentium/i3 or AMD A4/A6/A8/A10/FX-4). What CPU do you have? If it's a modern Intel i5/i7/Xeon or Amd FX-6/FX-8/FX-9/Ryzen 5/Ryzen7, it should be more than capable.

I am having a very old cpu which is intel Pentium dual core e5700. Whrn i first recorded with low game settings it worked better but increasing the setting affect recording. But i will lower the settings.
Other thing is that am having 2 hard disks one is 1tb and other 500gb both internal sata drive. Game is installed on 1tb disk. If i record on 500gb instead of 1tb hdd or external hdd will it work little better.

Thanks

Bejezus, that CPU is old. It may not be good enough for multitasking as intensely as you want to (recording at any sort of decent quality for modern youtube and playing a game at HD resolutions is going to be very taxing on that CPU). You have two real options:

1.) Attempt to overclock the CPU, assuming you have either a custom motherboard and not a Dell/HP/Acer/etc. brand desktop. If you do have a branded desktop, you can still overclock using SetFSB, but it may be a little more advanced/difficult, though the Wolfdale CPUs(Pentium 2010's & Core2 Duos) tend to overclock via FSB very well, though you may not see a large enough performance improvement to warrant upgrading from the stock cooler.

2.) Buy a capture card. They take some of the load off the CPU and accelerate recording using the specialized chipsets. They can be a bit pricey, but they're a good investment; they can be reused in future desktops. Just make sure to buy a PCI-E one, assuming your current motherboard has the ability to have a PCI-E card in addition to whatever graphics card you already have.

Other than that, there isn't much you can do about your problem. It definitely is more of the CPU bottlenecking your recording than the hard drive. If you don't want to do either of those things, you can attempt to record at even lower resolutions like 480p @ 24/30 fps while gaming at 720p or lower @ minimum settings and hope your youtube viewers won't mind (but in all honesty, they probably will).
