Hi all,

I have another post up regarding some Bluescreens i am getting.
I ve been doing some testing on my hardware as advised on another forum, i got to testing my SSD and HDD being a samsung 840 Evo SSD and a Samsung HD 103SJ so i downloaded the Samsung Magician software to test out the hard drives, i was instructed to use software that the brand of my hard drive makes.

Anyway when i open the samsung software it does not detect either of my drives, it only detects my external USB WD 3TB HDD. I then read this in the manual for the samsung magician software: 2) Magician does not work with SSDs connected via the SCSI controller interface.

I wasnt sure what this was at first but after a little research a have a better idea. I found both my SSD and HDD are using SCSI.

I previously thought that i had plugged my SSD into the only 6 gig ports but the ones i had used are the marvell 6 gig ports, i didnt even know that the intel 6 gig ports were different or even there! ><

In the BS crash dump it seems that the Marvell controll is crashing.

My question is, should i change my SSD and HDD over to the intel 6 gig ports on my motherboard?
What are the pros and cons of this?
Because the marvell controller is crashing could this be a entire mother board issue?
FYI my motherboard is: ASUS P8P67 Pro B3 Revision.

Thank you for your response. If I was to switch ports do I need to do anything else? I read somewhere I will need to set the bios to ahci mode is that right?
