Cpu at 100% whaile rendering and crashing pc in premiere elements 14

I make youtube videos and I have an i7 4790k overclocked to 4,5GHZ when i render (I have done it at 720p and 1080p or 30fps or 60fps with no difference) It uses up 100% of my CPU and when the render is just about done my PC crashes so i cant get the video please help as i cant make my videos with this problem!

It's over heating, or the CPU is getting unstable voltages. I suggest you bring down the core clock speed. It will take a few more minutes but at least you will get a video out.

I agree it's likely overheating. The stock cooler isn't sufficient. You can install CPU monitoring software; HWInfo64, CoreTemp, RealTemp, etc. to find out for sure. Do this and let us know what temp it's reaching, also what CPU cooler are you using?

You should monitor the temps with HWMONITOR and then post the screenshots of the temp and all that mid way in; as I can tell you said it happens at the end, so give yourself enough time for you to be able to take a screenshot and save it then immediately cancel the rendering process. It is most likely a overheating issue depending on the heatsink or AIO cooler you got.

REMEMBER: If your temps get to hot to fast (Or anytime in the render) then cancel the render ASAP and you would then know your issue.

Guys i undid the overclock (Its at 4GHZ) and its still at 97% CPU usage

UPDATE Idol usage whaile rendering with no overclock is 85% any idea how i can lower the usage? its 1080P 60FPS video and I have a 4790K

While you are rendering, there will be high cpu usage....

Nothing to fix.

If you are going to run overclocked, get a larger AOI, or a Noctua NH-D15...
