Also never said how much your willing to spend. If you only have a little I would say go for either the Ryzen 1600x, or the i5 7600k. You would get slightly higher fps with the i5 7600k. But you would be more versatile with the Ryzen 1600x. The one knock on the Ryzen would be that you have to get higher speed memory for it to run it faster. Which would cost more. Not so much with the 7600k, which would overclock higher to offset the memory.

Personally if I had the money I would build a Ryzen setup. Something like this.

Can you give an idea of how much your willing to spend? Also is this strictly for gaming? Are you going to be streaming, or recording? Or maybe doing all 3 at once? Also what is the size of you case?

Last why are you asking what gpu if you already have it? That is what the 1080ti is...a gpu.

problem is , if you go so high and play at 1080p , you just wasted your money BIG time. If you go that high, you MUST be playing in 4k.1080 ti is meant for 4k resolution gaming. Else get a 1060/1070 and be happy with it.

What about 1440p? What about 3440x1440 ultrawide?

What if they want high refresh rate gaming and high levels of detail settings?

Its not "meant" for 4k, thats not how graphics cards work.
