i play on a laptop (ASUS R510D) which i shouldn't be. anyways i have been getting insanely hot temps on my core (up to 92 C) and sometimes shuts its self off. i have cleaned out my fan and im getting good air flow out of it but still getting the high temps. its been going on like this for 2-4 days. Also my fan was going at about 3840 RPM when i was in Rocket league (a game) and would sometimes go up to 4080 RPM. my cpu is an AMD A 10 Quad core

Solution
The pads are largely ineffective because mostly blow at wrong places at the bottom of laptops. If you must, look at the bottom of your laptop and search for cooling pads that have fan(s) coinciding with openings/grills on the laptop.

Try replacing the thermal paste this sounds like dried up thermal paste to me.

thing is im no tech guy and im just too scared to tinker with stuff like that.. and i dont know what thermal paste to get to be exact..

Laptops may use paste but also heat transfer pads or both, unless you are proficient in servicing them, don't do it, not easy for beginners, too many small and delicate parts inside and to do that you'd need to take it completely apart !!!
Give it some extra cooling and call it a day.
Even after 30 odd years I still cringe when I have to do that much servicing on laptops. To say nothing about probably needing special tools and a shop manual.
