Hi guys,

I'm having a lot of trouble keeping my i7-7700k from overheating using a stock heatsink and thermal paste. Could you guys recommend any tips to keeping it cool with the stock heatsink or recommend any air coolers that might help keep it from overheating at 100°C? My motherboard is a MSI Pro Series Intel Z270 DDR4 HDMI USB 3 SLI ATX Motherboard. Its dimensons are 13.8 x 10.6 x 3.1 inches

Thanks.

Is this overclocked? If so, you might want to temporarily underclock/volt it, until you can find a better cooling solution.

I suggest the Scythe Mugen 5 or ThermalRight Macho Direct for high end HSF cooling for around ~$50 USD. For $35 you can find the Cryorig H7 which offers very fair cooling performance for the price.

I suggest cleaning your PC from dust, and possibly adding additional case fans of you don't already have 2 - 3. When purchasing case fans it is best to use the biggest supported for optimal airflow.

Stock HSF?

Didn't think the 7700K came with a HSF.

I know my boxed 7700K didn't.

Anyhow, depending on you case and case cooling the Noctua NH D15 is the cooler to get if it will fit in your case.
