Hey guys I recently bought a hyperx cloud 2 headset/headphones. My only problem with this headset is inside of the control box via USB, it forces you to use the soundcard built into the headset (Which sounds horrible). Now what you can do is use a sound card on your PC instead if you plug the headset directly to the audio ports. The headset has 3.5 cord . My soundcard only has a USB slot, would I be able to buy a 3.5mm female to USB male? Would I be able to use the full capability with the headset? I know my soundcard supports 7.1. Thank you!

Can you provide a link of your sound card.

I have never seen a sound card that only has a USB output.
That by definition makes it not a sound card because it in no way is able to connect to an audio source without a middle-ware device.

From what I am looking at online, the headphone uses a 4-pin 3.5mm cable meaning that both speakers and mic are running through the same cable
Thus you will need this splitter to be able to "break out" the provided 4-pin 3.5mm cable to be able to connect to the headset (green) and microphone (pink) jack on your PC

So since I have a sound card installed via PCI. Could I just buy a 3.5mm female to pink and green (mic and audio) splitter? And plug those into my motherboard? Or do I need to buy a USB soundcard?

I too have never seen an internal PC sound card with just a USB output, in fact I've never seen an internal PC sound card with USB at all, that's a novelty to me and I've bought a good many internal sound cards through the years. They've all had 3.5mm jacks (plus SPDIF digital on some), but no USB.

Unless the OP's sound card is an unusual one :??:
