what's considered a dangerous temperature?

Hi! I've had some issues in the past regarding parts of mine 'burning out' before I feel they really probably should have, including a power supply that went kaput way before its time, a really bad smoky smell coming from it before I ultimately took it apart and realised that it was just a lot of dust. So, I'm regularly opening up the case and shooting a compressed air can at it.

The PC sits underneath my desk, but it's a very open desk and my room has decent circulation. I initially had it on a carpeted floor, but seeing the amount of dust and gunk clogging up the bottom of the case I've put it on two spare tiles to create a slightly raised platform for it.

The issue with my PSU earlier this year has made me very paranoid, so I downloaded openhardwaremonitor to keep an eye on the temperatures. Normal use (i.e internet or most games) I have no issue, but some more graphic intensive games, like wolfenstein the new order (or, weirdly, slime rancher) I see higher temperatures and more alarmingly do smell a sort of overheating smell just from where I'm sitting. Here's the current temperatures its recording as I sit here right now with wolfenstein ticking over in the background, and the max ones that are where it's peaked while I've been playing:

[current/max, all in degrees celsius]
Nuvoton NCT6776F:
CPU Core: 43 / 61
Temp #1: 71 / 78.5
Temp #2: 42.5 / 57
Temp #3: 37 / 38

i7-3820:
CPU Core #1: 44 / 68
CPU Core #2: 42 / 66
CPU Core #3: 43 / 69
CPU Core #4: 41 / 68
CPU Package: 44 / 69

nvidia GTX 960:
GPU Core: 46 / 59

so, help a poor paranoid computer idiot out here, should I be worried? The temperatures definitely don't seem abnormally high, but I can't shake the faint burning smell and the fact that the case is mildly hot to the touch. Is there more I should be doing to keep it cool? More parts I can shove in? All I have is 2 fans for the CPU and the one that comes with the GPU. When should I be alarmed? Could this ever be dangerous to my PC or to myself?

Thanks for the help :D

Solution
I wasn't on PC for some time, sorry for little bit late reply.
These temps are not that high but cleaning coolers and adding 1 in front as intake and 1 to back as exhaust would be good and would help reducing them.

Temps are not bad;
Check if some cable is burning as I guess something is melting maybe and that can be (probably) the PSU to Motherboard 24 pin cable or PSU to Motherboard,CPU cable 4/8 pin OR PSU to GTX960 cable melting.
Check for those for now and reply with what you got.

sorry for being late to reply - I checked and then forgot to update as all seemed fine - no cable issues and case was still surprisingly hardly dusty

As I'm here I will update: no more problems playing wolfenstein, started playing the new DOOM and now have some more temps that feel alarming. I'll just post the max ones:

Nuvoton NCT6776F:
CPU Core: 64
Temp #1: 83.5
Temp #2: 57.5
Temp #3: 39

i7-3820:
CPU Core #1: 72
CPU Core #2: 71
CPU Core #3: 73
CPU Core #4: 71
CPU Package: 73

nvidia GTX 960:
GPU Core: 76

I mean, maybe its just my PC getting immersed seeing as Doom takes place in hell basically :D
What I want to know really is, having checked the case and seeing all is as should be, are these temperatures something to be worried about? Would a new fan fix the issue?
