So, hello! I have an i7-2600 3.40 ghz procie. A while ago, I bought a new cooler(AIR) because I'm getting an idle temp of 55C, when just playing a video/music it climbs up to 60C, when playing PUBG it's near to 80C(WHICH ARE NOT GOOD). But now, since I bough a new cooler and applied new thermal paste, I'm getting an idle temp of 41-45C. Haven't tried playing. So, are 41-45C idle temp good/bad?

Solution
on air yes. but idle temps aren't the main issue. Idle temps don't get affected too much when on air as most coolers will keep a CPU that's at idle at about the same temps. the main issue would be if you don't see a decrease in the temps when under different loads. try running a game that would bring it up to that 80c before and see if the new cooler keeps it lower than that.
