Offline Domain Access to Local Shares

Good day,

Any help to my issue will be greatly appreciated:

We have a local server with an application that is accessed via a Mapped Network drive.
For example Z:\shares\app.exe

This drive requires a username and password.

Our domain controller is at an offsite location which sometimes goes offline due to issues.

Where/How can I keep access to the local shared drive when the domain is "offline"

Kind regards,

If the software is installed on and accessed via the DC then you're fresh out of luck. If the link to the server goes down, so does the software. You may want to consider installing the software on the client computers, using the server as a repository and implementing offline files, but that depends entirely on the software you're using.

The bigger issue is why is a core server at a site that goes offline and why is the site going offline in the first place?
