Why won't my cpu work?

I have a ASUS H110M-A motherboard with a Skylake i3-6100 installed. I have now got a new Skylake i5-6500 that I want to replace it with. When I put it into the board the computer won't boot up. All the fans will start but it won't boot.

I have tried updating the mobo bios and clearing the cmos. Any one got any solutions?

Take out the CPU and check for any damaged pins on the motherboard or the chip itself.

will your I3 still work if you put it back in?

Yeah that is a good idea. That will tell you if it is the CPU or the motherboard socket

Make sure your 6pin CPU power connector is properly connected.

Yes my i3 and my i5 work. I've tested them in other peoples boards. But only the i3 seems to work in my mobo.

we were not asking if they work. we were asking if you tried installing the I3 back into your asus motherboard to see if it will still boot with it. you've never made that clear
