I am having an issue with my new Ryzen build. I am getting random screen freeze that lasts for about 10 seconds then returns to normal. No system crash and whatever is running returns to normal after around 10 seconds. Here is my system :

Ryzen 7 1700
MSI B350 Tomahawk
16 GB DDR4-2400 (G.skill 8gb x 2)
MSI GTX 1060 6GB
SSD 1 : PNY 260 GB
SSD 2 : Transcend 512 GB
1000w PSU
Windows 10 Home

I have tried updating video drivers, updating BIOS to current version (1.6), setting windows to performance power mode, switched out PSU cables, fresh operating system install. I even tried switching in an old GTX 760 I had lying around and I was getting the same issue. Anyone encountered this type of freeze issue with similar specs?

Solution
reset BIOS by jumper
load standard default settings in BIOS (not optimized defaults)

boot memtest86+

check SSDs with the PNY and Transcend tools

ATX12V/EPS fully connected? 8pins, not only one 4pin connector

which PSU cables are you using? If it´s modular use only the original cables which were delivered with the PSU. PCU connections are not equal and can lead to damages.

I was having the same issue … random bouts where everything would stop for about 10 to 30 seconds. I forget where I ran across it but I switched the windows 10 profile from balanced to performance and it seems to have fixed it.
