My desktop has integrated graphics amd radeno r5, and the motherboard is a gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-DS2H FM+2 with an amd a6 7400k apu 3.5ghz. I recently purchased the zotac mini 1050 gtx and installed it, but I have a feeling it's still running from the integrated graphics.I used an hdmi cable to connect to the graphics card to my lcd tv and went to use can you run it, and it showed that my video card was amd radeon r5 and everything else passed; I figured it would show the gtx nvidia card on the test but it never acknowledged it. I tested a game and it ran as if it was using onboard graphics as well. I went into the bios and changed the graphics slot to the PCI and disabled the integrated graphics as well and got the same results. In the guide for the motherboard it said to set integrated to forced with uma at 512 or above; I had this the first time and still received the same results so Im not sure why the radeon onboard graphics is still being used first instead of the graphics card. I installed the nvidia drivers for the graphics card no error. I just need some help i really dont know what i am doing wrong

Is there a video cable attached to the motherboard video or only to the nVidia card? Does the nVidia card show up in Device Manager? If you look at the video properties in Window does it show the monitor as being connected on the nVidia card?

Check for a newer BIOS for the motherboard.

Yes, under device manager display I can see the gtx 1050, and it doesnt require any powercables it's running in the desktop and connected with hdmi, it's only connected to the video card. I don't have anything attached to the integrated graphics with vga.

Ok, i updated with the @bios utility and set the bios to load optimized defaults , but it's still as if it's running only the onboard graphics when i test a game, and the can i run it still tells me its using the amd radeon r5 with 512 mb dedicated video ram :/ . on the nvidia control panel the gtx 1050 is selected

Did you install the latest drivers for the 1050 from nVidia? Unless you have some motherboard incompatibility with the video card it should be working with your system. What power supply do you have?
