PC Slowed down after installing IE8

So last night I installed a game which required Internet Explorer 8 which I didn't have.

I searched online a bit and found it on www.oldapps.com/internet_explorer.php?old_internet_explorer=17?download and installed it.

BUT, After I installed it my PC started to act weird. Whenever I would "refresh my desktop" I would see a huge white line coming down from the top of my screen, and "refreshing the desktop" took around 1 second longer than before (This video shows what I mean when I say big white line. Slow the video down if you want a clearer look into my problem https://youtu.be/MRnAPVN0sMw).

Another problem that started happening is that my CPU usage was higher than usual (about 20% higher than usual). The CPU usage is now around 25% when doing literally NOTHING, I'm just staring at my desktop with everything closed and the CPU usage is 25%.

Also the PC got slowed down a lot. Performing normal tasks like opening folders or listening to music was slower. My frame rate in almost all games that I have is slowed down.

I tried uninstalling IE8 but it didn't work. Tbh I think it made things even worse.

Also when it was uninstalling it I saw it "copying" some files from C:\\WINDOWS\system32 Did it remove anything important?

Please help :'(

I think the website that you installed that version of IE is a potential virus. I would put your computer in safe mode after installing malwarebytes & superantispyware. Than run a virus scan on your PC. ONLY install IE from Microsoft websites as that makes the most sense. IE 10 I think is the only version it goes to on the older computers/Operating Systems unless your rocking Windows 10.

I hope this helps!
