Sorry if this has been asked before but searching the net i couldn't find an answer. I hope this is the right thread to ask this on as i'm not sure because of the problem. I'm running my desktop computer off my phones internet and i want to connect my wifes laptop to the internet as well. One propblem is that i can't turn the wifi on to connect to her laptop that way so it has to be hardwired in someway. I bought a Micro usb hub to what i thought would split the signal and run it to both computers but neither could connect. When i'm running mine with the micro usb to usb cable for charging the phone my desktop works on the internet just fine is there some way i can connect my wifes laptop via the 15' usb cable i purchased and hers have internet?

"I'm using pdanet/foxfi to get the tethering on to my desktop."
This is what I see on thier website.
"FoxFi to give you supports of WiFi hotspot in addition"
Plus most phones have the wifi hotspot ability built in without the need for additional software.
What phone do you have?

"some how network hers to mine so she can use the internet through mine if that's even possible."
Yes, but setup can be complex. I've never done it before but you'd probably have to bridge the USB connection to the ethernet port (or somehow enable connection sharing) then use a crossover cable to connect your computer to her laptop.

To me this is the REAL issue. Did you find the physical switch or button combo to turn it on/off? If not look at the laptop's user manual on the manufacturers website for how to turn the Wifi on and off. Most laptops have a way to turn it off for when you are on a plane. If you tried that and it still will not turn on then it's turned off using the software. HP for example has a program that can be used to turn the wifi off and on.

It's not a router; a phone would need to be designed to have that ability. Otherwise it would expect only 1 connection.

Focus on getting your wifes wifi working to connect wirelessly ditch the dual wired connection idea.

There's no wifi from the phone for the wifes computer to connect to. I'm using pdanet/foxfi to get the tethering on to my desktop. I'd just like to be able to tether both to the one phone or some how network hers to mine so she can use the internet through mine if thats even possible.
