Hi all,

I have a new build and am experiencing performance issues, the game I have tested and play the most is World of Warcraft, even on average in game settings I am only getting 20 fps.

"Intel Core i5 6600K 3.50 GHz Quad
Nvidia force 1080
Msi z170 M5
Samsung 850 evo 500GB SSD
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Desktop Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)
Windows 10 HOme
Coolmaster 212
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 80+ GOLD 650W

Everything is brand new so I'm not sure how its performing this poorly. This is my first build, but I triple checked everything and took my time, reading the manuals etc. throughout the build process.

Solution
SOLVED ----

So I went into BIOS and saw that the CPU was only running at .8GHz, I thought this was normal because it wasn't technically utilizing anything. I looked into the issue a bit and there is a tiny button that reads like SLOW_1 or SLOW or something on the mobo, flipped the switch and boom problem solved. Not sure why this switch is even functionality on a gaming mobo but oh well, problem solved ty all for your time and help.

I'm pretty sure I installed all the necessary drivers and yes I am plugged into the GPU. I installed:
GPU Driver
Motherboard drivers
Even updated the BIOS to see if that was the issue.

Have you tried manually disabling the integrated gpu in the BIOS?

Is the fan on the GPU spinning? whats the temperature of your gpu and cpu when you are playing WOW?

Also, check your sys info and see if all your ram is getting listed.

I looked into disabling the integrated gpu in BIOS however did not see a setting for this. From my research I found that MSI will automatically disable it if a GPU is detected which I confirmed my GPU is being detected.

All of my fans are working correctly

Temperature - How do I check this?

CPU temp is 50 degrees Celsius I dont think temp is the problem I have the nzxt s340 case and i have a coolmaster Hyper 212 - sorry i will edit the main post and add this to the info.

Is it possible that something was installed wrong during the build process that would cause my GPU to perform this poorly? I do not believe it is a software issue I have updated all drivers, all windows updates, BIOS, etc.

example on tomshardware

MSI forum apparently this is a well known problem on MSI's own forums. On this forum user 'retiro13' posts a possible fix for this issue.
