I hope I am posting this in the right place. I got this computer built by a friend about 6-7 years ago, and has worked really well ever since. I have upgraded the processor since then as well as the RAM (to 12 GB). My biggest concern is I am about to start going back to college and need my computer to not crater on me during the semester.

What has caused this concern is I started playing Skyrim again (the original not the new version) and put around 450 hours into the game when it first came out with little issues, but now, I started playing again about a month ago (on the lowest possible graphics settings I can) and it is not running the game smoothly at all - and I have upgraded my computer since then.

I need advice on the cheapest upgrade for my GPU and CPU I assume - since I am starting college again price is a big issue. I am hoping my Motherboard is still good, it is a Gigabyte 880 GMA-UD2H.

My computer specs (tell me if you need more info - I am copy/pasting from the dxdiag log):

That's some good news, lol, regardless, what would be the cheapest possible upgrade for my system? And what all would need to be upgraded?

Hmmm, interesting, this may be the cheapest option, and I appreciate this, I am surprised that this package includes an Intel chip. I would love a whole new rig, but then I have to think about the OS, Microsoft Office, and all the programs I will need for school; yet this is a very possible option. My biggest issue with this would be, I don't know how to put it all together myself.

I appreciate your suggestions, I will take them into consideration, I am researching back to school sales for a prebuilt computer now. I have found a few for $600 that have windows 10 and microsoft office already installed, which would save me money overall.

EDIT:
I have found some PC's on Amazon for really cheap, but yes, I know enough to know you get what you pay for.
