It's been 5+ years since i've first made my computer and its been hard to keep up with more modern gamings with my 670 gtx in sli with my 3770k. Is there any reason big reason to pick one from the other?

Solution
I would do neither, and use a less expensive i7-7700K.
In these tests, it beats a I7-7800X

And... some games do not support dual gpu well.
You might find better gaming with something like a GTX1080 or GTX1080ti.

I would wait until Coffee Lake. Your CPU is still very capable. I'd upgrade to a GTX 1080 or 1070 if possible. That would certainly help you keep up with modern games. My CPU is only around 5% faster and I only have a mild overclock on it. My system has a GTX 1080 ti in it and I can't really complain. It does really well.
