Hi like my title say i have those memory and board combine and gskills claim to be one of the best overclocking ram nowadays but i got an problem here . When i choose xmp my ram is automatically set to 2400mhz trying to change frequency and timing with higher frequency just dont work at all . I could manage to get it work to it 3200mhz though but i have to go manual and set cas latency to auto . I hear people talking about 3666mhz , 3866mhz and 4133mhz and those frequency are on the formula ix box too i want to know how can i overclock those frequency by using xmp profile . The manuel setting never work higher than 3200mhz . If someone could help with that i will really appreciate

Do you have the latest BIOS installed?

Generally the best overclocking RAM uses Samsung's B-die DRAM modules. I don't think any of the 3200/16 uses those modules. The 3200/14 does for sure.

That being said it should absolutely run at its rated speed on your system. And it should work with XMP.

Those wont go over 3200mhz, they are Hynix chips, and 3200mhz is their limit.

If you want 3600mhz, 3800mhz, 4133mhz etc, you need to buy a kit rated for that speed, you are then in Samsung B Die territory, and the prices of those sticks shows it too.

All DDR4 is 2133mhz, it is then factory overclocked to its max limits, yours is already overclocked to 3200mhz in the factory where they were made, its then loaded into an XMP profile on the sticks to give the end user a 1 click overclocking option in the bios, simply load XMP profile to enable the overclock, if they could do 3600mhz, then G.Skill themselves would of sold them as a 3600mhz kit for more money, if XMP isnt working, thats a board / bios issue, if you can get them to boot at 3200mhz manually, take that route.

Yes i did update my board to latest bios update indeed . When i put the profile to xmp it auto set the ram to 2400mhz with 15-15-35 i dont remmenber the exact last number . And when i manuelly set to 3200mhz with auto timing it goes 17-18-18-36 with auto voltage reaching 1.508 v seem a bit high in my opinion but that cause instability my exact reference is G.SKILLS TRIDENT Z MODEL F4-3200C16D-16GTZR . Can you please tell me what ram of gskills will be compatible with the xmp profil i will get then maybe this one is not compatible i dont know .

That RAM voltage of 1.5v is dangerous to both the RAM and your CPU potentially. So don't use that again.

Will the RAM run at the rated voltage/speed/timings when manually configured? If not then either there's something faulty with the RAM or your motherboard. Try a single stick at a time in each slot.

You might also want to run memtest. 10 to 12 hours to fully test. Any errors at all mean a problem.

Set the speed, voltage and main timings manually.

So put them at 3200mhz, 16-18-18-38-2T 1.35v.

You dont need any other G.Skill ram, they are all loaded with XMP profile, one thing I do have to ask, have you ever tried to control the LEDs on the ram sticks with software ?

Yes as all my product are new i did download all software on official site i did use asus aura sync and remmenber that spd wasnt displaying on cpu-z rog after using aura sync but after restart the spd was back on cpu-z display i delete the aura program after that i read on some forum that this could ecrase spd but that wasnt my case fortunatly . BTW my 7700k is overclock stable with 5.1ghz its work perfectly when ram are set to xmp 2400mhz auto xmp profil but my point is that i pay ram for 3200mhz 2x8 for that frequency i just cant make it work on xmp profil .Like i say all is new if i have to make a rma i need to know what is causing th issue it must be either ram or mainboard i spend night and night on that and didnt sleep 2 days trying to figure it out . one guy on the chat told me to get the 3200mhz gskills with 14-14-14-34 i see on the gskills official site thats another model series maybe i should get those but those high end gears are expensive i need confirmation well at this point i am loss .

Download the free version of this and run it, follow the 2 instructions on the screen when you open it, all you have to do is click the read button and choose one of the 2 addresses: http://www.softnology.biz/files.html

See what the result is at the bottom, where it says CRC: ????
