Hi i recently got a hp 8300 C9X85UC for 220 dollars and the machine had no gpu. so i pulled a gt 610 from my old rig and put it in as a place holder for my gtx 1050ti until it arrived. the card works but the pc fails to show stuff on the monitor. even through motherboard port.
i have tried:
disabling integrated graphics in bios
running computer in the 'full boot mode' instead of the 'fast boot mode' in the bios
uninstalling and reinstalling drivers.
Thank you in advance
Yona

If the card works you should see an image, just because the fans spin on it or something does not mean the card works, or at least does not in that system. Power supply may not be good enough to run the card, motherboard may not be compatible with the card, something could be wrong with the PCIe slot. Check for a newer BIOS for the computer and try it again. Did you make sure the card works in another system?

i know the card works as it was running fine in my older system. the power supply should not be an issue as i can hear the computer booting through the inbuilt speaker and this machine has a 320watt power supply and my old system only had a 220watt supply.

Did you check for a BIOS updated for the system? Business computers don't always work with all models of add-on cards.
