*might be the wrong thread so pls mods move it to a correct one*
My hd7970 is overheating I have set a custom fan curve and its getting better it runs around 80C now but when it hits 90 its a black screen I did everything to keep it cooler and while it does work its a bit of a hassle, so I decided to scrape some money for an aftermarket cooler and that is the one I found, if it doesnt fit which one does?

Old knowledge but as I recall the HD7970/7950 came in 3 main flavours and you'll need to pop off the cooler to see which one you have:
1: GPU die sits slightly below the surrounding support, easily spotted because the coldplate of the cooler has a raised square on it.
2: GPU die site level with the surround.
3: GPU die sits slightly higher than the surround.

If you card is #1 you could be in trouble, a flat coldplate on the cooler won't actually touch the GPU die, making cooling it impossible without the use of a shim.
If your card is #2 or #3 things are OK the Arctics flat coldplate will fit and work well.

What card do you have exactly?
When was the last time it was cleaned out and the thermal paste replaced? Getting complex GPU coolers fully clean can mean more than just blasting it with a can of compressed gas.
