I want to buy this Intel mini itx mobo: dq67ep
It's a 1155 socket, and I have a i5 2500k. For some reason on Intel states this mobo doesn't support 2500k. I thought it might be due to the mother board not supporting 95tdp processors, but the i5 2500 is on the compatible processor list and is also a 95tdp. So I was thinking maybe this list is just not updated to include the k models of the Core processors?
If anyone could shine a little more light on this for me I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is the link to Intel's compatibility pdf https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/desktop-boards/DQ87PG.pdf

I didn't realize that a bios could lock out specific processors. I figured it would just try to boot it as long as it was the right socket.
I'm thinking about trying it anyway, it is really hard to find a good 1155 Mini itx, and I can get this board for $70 and its new. All the other boards I see are used and don't even have sata6 support or usb3.0 support.

Oh wow, great find! This makes me feel a bit more comfortable. Well I'm gonna have to do this now for science to see if it works. I've blown money on worse things haha. I should have the parts by friday. I will update you on how it goes. I'm hoping to get lucky and not have to mess with the bios at all, bit I'm sure it will be a fun learning adventure if I do!
Thanks for the help!

So far so good, just finished putting everything together hardware came early.
When I powered on the bios gave me a warning, saying the processor I installed is a 95 watt processor and is not supported unless a custom thermal solution is installed to substitute the stock thermal solution.
I assumed it meant heatsink and fan, which I have a nice cryorig c7 that I installed, then it made me say yes to the warning saying I pretty much void the warranty, but let me continue.
Currently installing OS, hasn't blown up yet. I'll give you an update later on and how the temps are.
