Hello guys! My name is Alex. Its my first time posting a comment on this site, so sorry if im not using the right format, if that even is a thing. So basically, im concerned my pc might not be at its max performance, and id like your guys help to confirm that.

PC SPECS: i5-4670 3.4-Ghz
Gtx 770 2gb
8 gb ram
Motherboard: Gigabyte H81M-H.
Windows 7 ultimate, 32 bit.

I mainly play 4 games: CS:GO, Overwatch, Rocket league, and GTA 5.

On gfa 5, running the lowest settings possible, i run around 60-90 fps, sometimes 100 depending on the place, and it rarely drops below 60, only when there is like a full session and huge explosions.

On CSGO, running the LOWEST settings possible, i run 140-300 fps, depending on the map.

On Overwatch, running lowest settings possible, i run 140-220 fps, also depending on the maps played.

And on rocket league, running the max settings(finnaly lol), i run 150-200 fps so, not really a "problem" for me.

Alot of people will think that im saying those fps are not good, and they are, but, what im trying to say is, Is this right? Like ive seen SO many videos of benchmarks running the same CPU and GPU on the same games, which a much better performance and being able to run this games at high settings fine. So please help me guys!

Yes, im aware, the thing is, id like to run this game on high because acording to benchmarks on reliable sites, i can... but for some reason im not able to do that.

The reason? Would you like to know the reason? Can you handle the truth? The bare, ugly and honest truth? There won't be any sugar coating either. Oh...

Welcome to Tom's Hardware! Happy that you had so many choices of awesome forums out there but you chose the best one.

So, you asked the question. You must be ready for the answer. You're prepared for the how of your why. This is only my opinion. It may not be factual but it is an informed opinion. And no most people in this forum are completely same. I don't represent the majority.

Where I see an issue is that you only have 2GB of VRAM. Consider Far Cry 4 with my 4690K, 8GB RAM and a 970 FTW.

I used https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner. I enabled OSD(the gear on the main screen)for RAM usage, system RAM usage(aka VRAM), GPU and CPU load and temps. and core and memory clocks. As you can see I was using over 2.7GB of RAM. If I only had a 2GB GFX 770 card it would have handicapped my performance. You have a CPU capable of handling an 8 lane highway but your GFX card has yet to update its infrastructure so it it slowing down the show with its puny 2 lane highway. Don't ready anything into lanes. Just an example. It's just not a very powerful GPU. Still very nice but definitely has been handed its hat.

That is where I see an issue. Consider this video They go down to the 30s and up to the 60s in the beginning of the video. You
run around 60-90 fps, sometimes 100 depending on the place, and it rarely drops below 60, only when there is like a full session and huge explosions.
The numbers you are talking about seem completely normal to me. The next upgrade is to a 1060 6GB/ 580 8GB or better. Then double your RAM. GFX cards are just ridonkulously expensive right now.

Hey man, i REALLY appreciate your answer. So ok you said getting 60-100 fps is fine, let me ask you, im getting a gtx 960 4 gb, would that be better? how many fps would i get on low/high settings? thanks.

I think that's a bad move if you're buying it. The performance boost isn't really worth $100. Buying it for $75? Worth it.

FPS increase? Maybe a 10% increase.

Do you keep vsync enabled? No need to create the extra frames with the 60Hz monitor. Waste of resources that is. Do you keep AA to a minimum?

If you REALLY want a performance boost then the 960 is an upgrade that I might make if I have $75 extra dollars. However I might be patient, wait a couple months for GFX card prices to go down and then use all my money for a proper upgrade such as a 1060 6GB.

I am waiting a few months, since i will only have the money on christmass, thats like 5 months... so surely the prices will go down... or atleast hopefully. Thanks bro. btw, will a 1060 6 gb not make my CPU bottleneck?

In Overwatch and GTA what happens when you raise settings, even just raising a few settings? If your fps stay the same Id say your cpu limited.

I have a 4670k OC'd to 4.3Ghz, I also cap my fps at 60 (not using v-sync). Most of my modern games run at 80% or greater cpu usage.
