Replaced motherboard, HDMI and USB not working on new motherboard

Hi. I had a HTPC system where the really old EVGA 112-CK-NF77-A1 motherboard failed. I have a previously working Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ Motherboard with a AMD Athlon II X2 250 Dual-Core CPU that I'm going to use instead. I installed it, but the onboard HDMI and USB ports don't work. No power to the USB ports (tried charging my phone and it doesn't work). I installed a graphics card with HDMI and it works. System posts, but still no USB power. I connected my HDD and windows loads, but states there is a file structure error and attempts to repair it. It then asks if I would like to to a system restore. However I'm unable to select "Restore" as my USB keyboard won't work.

I guess I shouldn't be going this far anyways until I get the on board HDMI and USB issue resolved. Any suggestions? I have one stick of 4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333 Memory . I have the 24 pin ATX connector, the 8 pin ATX 12V connector, the CPU fan, HDD and case power button connected. Am I missing something else?

Should I try a cmos reset?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd go for the CMOS reset, since you'll be 100% procent sure, there's nothing wrong with the BIOS failing and also. Do you have the latest update for your motherboard?

I'll give the BIOS reset a try.

Not sure if I have the latest update, not able to check since I don't have keyboard access.

Ok, I got everything working after the CMOS reset. Woo Hoo!

So are you saying that my windows install on the existing hard drive won't work? Even after trying the windows repair? (it does state that Windows failed to start and it might be do to a hardware or software change and then offers the choice to do a repair)

Tried the windows repair and it seems to have worked......at least for now anyways.

First time posting on this site. Great, super fast responses. Top notch!
