Hi%2C%0D%0AI%27ll try to keep this short and simple.%0D%0A%0D%0AIs my GPU too powerful for my monitor%27s resolution%3F%21%0D%0A%0D%0AI have a GTX 1080Ti Aorus Xtreme%strippedEmail and 16GB 3200Mhz RAM and I%27m gaming on a 34%22 LG Ultrawide 144hz 1080p monitor.%0D%0AI can%27t get more than 80-90 frames on Battlefield 1 at Ultra settings %28with or without FXAA and Motion Blur%29. and I%27m starting to believe there is a bottleneck issue.%0D%0APS%3A I tried other gamed like GTA V and even CSGO and it was the same issue%0D%0A%0D%0APower Supply is 850W 80plus Titanium so power shouldn%27t be the issue.%0D%0AI tried to change Nvidia power management to %22adaptive%22 and high performance but to no avail. I have also changed windows power plan to performance.%0D%0AMoreover%2C I did a clean windows install on my SSD when I assembled the rig.%0D%0A%0D%0AI feel desperate right now%2C I don%27t know if my choosing of a monitor with that resolution is the issue. At the time and until now there haven%27t been any 2K 34%22/35%22 Ultrawide monitors with refresh rates higher than 100Hz.%0D%0A%0D%0APlease help%21 I%27m burning brain cells thinking that the money I paid for this monitor is going to waste. I did a lot of research but no one mentioned this. Every thread says that 1080Ti is overkill for 1080p but none says that it CAN%27T push all those frames at said resolution

cpu

you bought the wrong setup for high refresh rate gaming at 1080p

I use the setup as a workstation more than I do as a gaming machine, but I'm comparing the performance I'm getting to other reviewers performances

You may have to test more games or even run some benchmarks. I do not think that cpu should hold you back that much.

I know my 1070 will NOT get 144fps in many games(some game engines do not get this frame rate while other may need more cpu or video power.) on my current cpu(older 2600k @ 4.4 ghz). Adjusting some settings may help you get higher frame rates.

When playing a game check your gpu usage. If it is high, you may actually be maxing out the video card(not that I expected something like that out of a 1080ti).

I get more FPS in CSGO on my older rig (i5-4670K + R9 390) Than on my current machine and it's just mind blowing.
On Black Ops 3 the FPS stays well beyond 130 but on BF1 I can't get it to 100 or thereabouts.
I'm actually thinking of getting an Ultrawide 1440p monitor because of this, just to push things up.

I just don't understand how other Youtubers, even almost 4 months ago could get higher FPS in games than me.
My graphics drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled and I flashed latest F4 BIOS on my motherboard. My CPU is overclocked to 3.8Ghz on all cores. Also, I did a clean windows setup when I built this rig and it's on a new SSD.

Can I get more opinions? I'm willing to test any game I have, or do any kind of testing and post results for you guys.

Cheers

I am not sure what is causing this. Are the settings 100% the same?

Getting a 2560 x 1440 will NOT increase frame rates in most cases it will lower them. You can use DSR to force your card to run 2560 x 1440 to see how the performance is(may be worth a test).

CS:GO is not generally demanding, but maybe some setting is causing it(I think multicore rendering used to cause some issues with some systems.).

Turns out that %100 Resolution Scale in BF1 is not set like that by default. Some say it should be %42 and anything above that would be upscaling.
Nevertheless. I still feel like my 1080Ti is not giving full performance

I do not have that game to say yes or no, but for me 100% would sound like native. Strange that they did that. If 100% is 2x you are rendering 4k. That is very hard on a gpu :)

If you use something like Afterburner or GPU-Z's sensor tab, how is the gpu usage(listed in %) when playing?
