I just bought a new motherboard, CPU, rams and power supply. But in the installation progress, I forgot to install my standoffs to the motherboard.

Earlier this week my PC died in the middle of a gaming session and I thought it was a motherboard issue, so I got a new one (and a new CPU, power and some RAM). My old motherboard didnt have standoffs either, and it worked perfectly for around 3 years, so I never even thought about the standoffs. I'm pretty new at this. Well, I installed the new motherboard without standoffs, and what happens is the following:

Upon Windows installation, I get to my desktop, but after a couple of seconds, the screen turn black. When I restart, I can't get past the ASUS text; the screen still goes black but the PC is running. This is exactly the same as with my old components.

However, my PC does work without my GPU, unlike with my old motherboard. Also, my PC does work WITH the GPU, if I run a 32-bit version of Windows.

I know that installing motherboard without standoffs is very likely damaging the motherboard, but can it affect other components, too? I would not like to get a new GPU right now, after getting a new CPU which was very costy.
