Going to us elgato hd60 in 1080p.

For the device you have, the encoding at quality resolution should take 3.5-7 GB for 30 minutes.

If you decide to capture the video raw (unencoded), then 30 minutes at 1080p, 60fps, 8bits color requires 625 GB of space. 782GB if you go for 10 bit.

Using a capture device that encodes the video always results in inferior video quality than capturing the video raw, and then encoding that video with a software based encoder. And if record using an encoder, and then re-encode again to have a lower size, the quality will suffer a lot.

It's literally from their website:

1080i Recordings

The Quality bit rate range is between 15 and 30 Mbit/sec. The Storage space is between 7 and 14 GB/hour.

Now you might think that 1080p would need more space than 1080i, but they list the same bit range for both. It might seem like a lot of space, but 100 hours of video would only use at most 1.4 TB, so not that much space for a lot of game footage.

At around 25Mbit/s that's about right,here 26min at 24M/bit comes out at 4.5Gb.
I do a lot of recording with shadowplay.
