Need more details, are you connecting to a modem or a router with that cable? Are there link lights on the network card to show connection is good? Run the ipconfig /all command from a DOS prompt, post what you get there for the IP, Gateway and DHCP server.

Is this a new setup or did this work before? Make sure your network card is set to DHCP. Maybe try another port or another cable with the computer. You can try resetting the TCP/IP stack with the "netsh int ip reset" command from a dos prompt.
