Best budget Intel gaming CPU ?

I want a good gaming CPU for about £150-250 I'm looking for 4 cores or more and more than 3 GHz thank you
I'm also upgradeing my motherboard but have not decided which one yet

I think you need to realise what it actually takes to upgrade your CPU, it's impossible with your budget, also if you want to upgrade you are REQUIRED to ditch the DDR3, no argument there.
Get the 1050 Ti, it's a good upgrade atm.

My specs are.



RAM. 16 GB ddr3 ram

MOBO gigabyte technology co ltd h55m-usb3

CPU. I5 760

GPU. Gainward gtx 560 to 2gb gddr5

500gb HHD


I was planning to get a graphics card a gtx 1060 ti and I was worried of bottleneck so I was also going to get a aftermarket cooler for CPU until I realised my temp sensor was broken and my mothergoard supports only PCI 2.0 and my motherboard does not support many decent CPUs


My budget is really tight.

I'm not sure


My 16 GB was not long ago upgraded

I remember I have about 8 GB of ddr3 ram which I used in my previous rig but the thing is they are slightly different sizes as in height and I'm not sure to sell them seperatley as 4gb or all 8gb ?
